Supertrends welcomes Claus Rothoff Brix as new CEO

Today we are happy to share that Claus Rothoff Brix, 48, has been selected as our new Chief Executive Officer. He will assume the new role on the 1st of January 2022.

Sharing his thoughts about joining Supertrends, Claus wrote:

“I am very proud and humbled to be part of Supertrends AG. For me, it is a unique opportunity to be able to help fulfil the great global ambitions that Supertrends has. Being able to give companies strategic insight into future innovations and technology-driven trends, through Supertrends’ unique solution, is a challenge that I really look forward to.” – Claus Rothoff Brix

Claus Rothoff Brix joins us with more than 20 years of experience in the media industry, having most recently served as the CCO for Ekstra Bladet with a special focus on digital transformation and commercial growth. Prior to that, he led Nordisk Film’s media business as the Nordic CEO, during which time he led the development of the new Nordisk Film subsidiary Airmagine, which manages all the advertising space at Copenhagen Airport. He also brings a profound knowledge of the cinema media, broadcast television and magazine industries, owing to, among other roles, over 10 years of experience at TV2 Denmark.

Claus will be taking over from our current CEO Kim Weis Hansen, who will transition into the new role of Chief Operating Officer at Supertrends and work together with Claus to ensure a seamless transition. In line with the company’s growth ambitions in Denmark and Switzerland, Claus will be positioned in Supertrends’ upcoming office in Copenhagen, while Kim will remain in Switzerland to focus on supporting the existing team based in Zug as well as leading the development of a brand new Supertrends studio in Thalwil, Zurich. We look forward to the opening of both offices in early 2022, which will also serve as the locations for our Supertrends Strategy Rooms services.

Commenting on the transition, Kim said:

“Claus possesses a unique combination of strategic insight into innovation in large companies as well as the steely ability and determination to realize ambitious commercial goals. That’s exactly the profile we need at this stage in our global growth journey, and I am very much looking forward to working with him. I am also personally grateful to now have more time to focus on what matters to me most: supporting and developing our talented team.” – Kim Weis Hansen

Kim steered the company through an important development phase. Under his leadership, Supertrends launched four innovative and bespoke future-as-a-service (FaaS) solutions, opened its first office in Denmark, delivered its first white-label products to clients, and added twelve full-time hires globally. And we are still growing. Check out our open roles on the Supertrends Linkedin page.

Supertrends and Active Owners Denmark Join Forces to Strengthen Danish Businesses

Today, we are very happy to share that Supertrends will be collaborating with the Danish investor trade association Active Owners Denmark (known in Denmark as Aktive Ejere) toward their mission of strengthening Danish businesses.

With the world changing at an ever-faster rate, businesses and particularly institutional investors need to know the direction the world is moving in, in order to make optimal strategic decisions. Hence, the relevance of Supertrends to an organization like Active Owners Denmark. As the COO of Active Owners Denmark, Jonathan Schacht Hallin Nielsen, put it: ”The investment industry relies on strong partners and strong data. Working with Supertrends gives great access to both and as the primary business organization for Danish investment professionals, we appreciate the new collaboration and the opportunities it creates for our members.”

The goal of the collaboration is thus to supply Active Owners Denmark and their extensive member network with Supertrends’ tools to navigate the future, such that they may select more effective strategies in light of what’s to come. Specifically, Supertrends’ highly customizable and constantly updated knowledge system will enable Active Owners Denmark and its members to track the most promising trends relevant for their sector, as they unfold. This offering, which we call future-as-a-service (FaaS), consequently helps to eliminate the “white noise” created by the bombardment of news services today by focusing only on the trends and innovations that will significantly impact the future.

A number of events have already been planned as part of the collaboration; the first of which is already taking place next week. Supertrends will be presenting at Active Owners Denmark’s 2021 Nordic Fundraising Summit taking place from the 5th to 6th of October, with plans to organize another event later in the year for members of Active Owners Denmark. The organization will also be granted access to the Supertrends Pro app so that they can stay abreast of relevant trends on-demand – in turn offering better value to their clients.

Looking ahead, Supertrends CEO Kim Weis wrote: “As our mission at Supertrends is to prepare business for the future, we feel very close to Active Owners Denmark’s mission of helping innovative companies get better. I am therefore personally really looking forward to sharing our hard work with Active Owners Denmark and their members, as well as to subsequently witness the effects our insights will bring about.”

Company News: Supertrends secures CHF 1.5m in Series A financing round

Today we are pleased to inform our clients, followers and partners that we have closed our Series A financing round of 1.5 million Swiss francs at a pre-money valuation of 6.5 million Swiss francs.

The capital increase was closed with investments from a small group of international investors living in Switzerland, all of whom have significant experience with venture investments as well as in scaling growth companies.

The announcement comes amid a period of rapid expansion in our company, as we also recently opened a sales office in Copenhagen, revealed new strategic partnerships, delivered our first white label software to a hedge fund, and appointed experienced banker and entrepreneur Alfred W. Moeckli as chairman of the board. We plan to use this capital to accelerate sales, support the company’s expansion to new markets, and propel the continued development of our products and services. Following the release of our products Supertrends Pro, Supertrends White Label and Dynamic Reports, we are now particularly looking forward to the official launch of our AI tool Supertrends Lab, as well as our own war room concept, Supertrends Strategy & War Rooms – both of which are expected to release in the coming months.

Commenting on the capital increase, our Chairman of the Board Alfred W. Moeckli wrote: “Supertrends is revolutionizing how information about innovation, trends, and technological breakthroughs are collected, conveyed, and applied in practice. After a few years of product development followed by months of co-development with various interested organizations, we are now ready for our commercial breakthrough. The focus from here will be on sales as well as international expansion from Denmark and Switzerland to the UK and USA. The capital increase enables us to take this next, important step in Supertrends’ development.

Our founder and board member Lars Tvede, added: “In my opinion, we are filling a large gap in the market, which I myself have suffered under for decades as an investor and entrepreneur. While followers of the financial markets have access to excellent information services such as Bloomberg, where all information about the financial markets is consolidated in one place – and updated in real-time – it is almost impossible to follow the world’s exponentially accelerating innovation. Supertrends solves that problem.”

He continued: “Here at the beginning of our commercial breakthrough, I am really happy that the original shareholders and I have got a number of very experienced “wingmen” with significant entrepreneurial and financial experience into the circle of owners, who can help us internationalize the company and open doors. My experience from previous projects is that such co-investors can mean the difference between success and failure.”

To conclude, we’d like to share our appreciation for everyone who has been following and participating in our journey so far. We look forward to sharing everything we are planning over the coming months.

Swiss Banker Alfred W. Moeckli Joins Supertrends as Chairman of the Board

We are delighted to announce that last Monday, Alfred W. Moeckli started in his new position as chairman of the board at Supertrends. He is taking over from the previous chairman, Lars Tvede, who will continue to fuel the growth of Supertrends as an active co-founder and member of the board.

Alfred joins us with more than 20 years of international experience as a CEO, COO or as a Member of Boards of Directors of various banks and publicly listed companies. Most prominently, Alfred served as Group Chief Executive Officer of VP Bank Ltd. between 2013 and 2019, during which time he doubled the average yearly profit and share price of VP Bank. He also co-founded publicly listed Swissquote Group, and subsequently built up Swissquote Bank as CEO. He brings a profound knowledge of the financial industry and has comprehensive first-hand experience navigating through operational and strategic leadership challenges.

Speaking about the new co-operation, Lars wrote the following: “Since 2019, Alfred has focused on identifying especially promising start-ups and then helping them to scale effectively. I had the pleasure of witnessing his work first-hand, as I previously introduced him as chairman to our portfolio company Coinify – to great effect. I am, therefore deeply honored that he now choose us.” Alfred himself added: “I am very excited to join Supertrends to help mankind map our common future”.

Alfred joins Supertrends at a pivotal and exciting time, as the company recently opened a Danish office, launched four new services, and is now looking to establish their presence in the UK and the US as they continue to grow internationally. As such, he is expected to greatly support and propel the company during a period of rapid expansion.
